    Motherland, Freedom, Independence !
Ukrainians!
    Sons and daughters of Ukraine, who are dispersed by destiny all over the world, we have gathered here in Kyjiv before the tenth anniversary of Independence declaration in order to decide which direction is the state going to move in the third century.
    For long decades abroad strange lands You as real patriots dreamed of free independent Ukraine. You have cherished Your own culture. You have saved the native language and the state symbols. Collapse of the USSR has returned our hope but is Ukraine now as we want it to be?
    All Ukrainians living in western countries share values that we are struggling for. XX century raised Ukrainian idea to the new stage combining it with the ideas of liberation from totalitarianism, and a formation of civil democratic society.
    But did You want to see Ukraine as it is now?
    Journalists subject their lives to danger, economics is robbed by clans, political parties are differentiated as "our" and "those who have to be annihilated" according to President Kuchma's vision... Ten recent years show that Ukraine is not free, ghosts of the past have usurped the power.
    It is them who use as a cover our national flag and are cunning while speaking of love to the culture and the language. It is them who being smirched with crime tell lies about their own successes from the high platforms. It is them who do not acknowledge the truth and ignore aspirations and desires of people to whom this country belongs.
    Is it possible in democratic countries?
    We call You to go on struggling for real Ukrainian state system. Let us join our forces! Ukraine has its democratic forces that are waiting for Your support.
